LANCASTER -

Shawn C. Sensenig, 21, of Lancaster, entered into rest at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, on Sunday, June 29, 2008 as a result of traumatic injuries from a vehicle accident.

Born in Ephrata on July 8, 1986, he was the only son of Randy L. Sensenig of Lancaster and a son of Laura E. (Shalter) Swenson of Akron.

A hunter, he loved the family cabin in the mountains and spending time at the beach. Shawn was a 2005 graduate of Lampeter Strasburg, and was currently a senior at Millersville University, majoring in biology.

He worked at Willow Valley Retirement Community in food service.

He is survived by his father, Randy L. Sensenig and loving friend Tiffany Waldren, of Lancaster, his mother, Laura E. (Shalter) Swenson of Akron, half-brother, Kyle Swenson of Akron, half-sister, Margaret Swenson of Akron, paternal grandparents, Bruce E., husband of Elaine H. (Good) Sensenig of Clay, maternal grandparents, Fred, husband of Margaret Shalter of Denver, two uncles, David L., husband of Jennifer Sensenig of Rothsville, and Ray, husband of Shari Shalter of Ephrata, an aunt, Joyce, wife of John Ferdrick of Mt. Joy and many close friends.

There will be no public viewing. A visitation was held at the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Road, Ephrata, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 and Thursday, July 3, with funeral services at the church. Rev. Dr. B. W. Hambrick officiated. Interment was private and at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial contributions in Shawn's memory be sent to University of Pennsylvania Trauma Center, 3400 Spruce Street, 2nd Floor Dulles, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Akron/Ephrata.
