EPHRATA - Ephrata Manor will be holding its annual Flea Market on Saturday, May 3
from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by for some great bargains on yarn, puzzles,
books, clothes, appliances, furniture and much more. Subs and a bake sale
also will be held. Proceeds benefit the Auxiliary to UCC Homes and directly
benefit the residents who live there.
New Singles Dance will be held
Friday, May 2, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the quality Inn Ballroom, located at
2363 Oregon Pike, Lancaster. For directions please call 569-0477. The dance
is open to all unmarried persons over the age of 21 who are neatly dressed.
Admission is $11. Free snacks and a cash bar will be provided. For more

Kids Reading Tales to Tailwaggers. Enjoy
reading to a dog? Children in grades 1-4 are invited to read a story to a
KPET certified dog on Tuesday, May 6, from 4-5 p.m. at the Ephrata Public
Library. The dogs and their handlers will be in the library's story room
ready to listen. Each child may choose stories on his/her own reading level
lasting for app. 10-12 minutes of reading. On the sign-up sheet you can
indicate if you prefer the first or second half hour slot
Children's
Chess Club will be meeting the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of the month,
6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ephrata Public Library. Supervised by John
Longenecker and Joe Weber, this club is for children who know how to play
chess and enjoy playing the game with other young chess enthusiasts! Ages
6-12 are welcome.
Chicken BBQ, sponsored by the Baron Stiegel Lions
Club of Clay and Elizabeth Townships, will be held Saturday, May 10, from
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church grove located along
Rte. 322, one mile east of Brickerville. Price is $4.50 per half. Tickets
can be purchased in advance from Lions and Midget ball team members.

Adamstown Community Days will be held May 23, 24 and 25
in the Adamstown Community Grove. There will be food, carnival rides,
games, entertainment and activities each day. There is no charge for
parking, admission or entertainment. The event runs from 5-10 p.m. on
Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Adamstown Grove is adjacent
to the community pool, just off Route 272. For more information, visit the
