EPHRATA, PA - The engagement of Charles McComsey and Brandie Greathouse, 241 Park Ave., Ephrata, is announced by the couple.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Larry and Ruth Ann Greathouse, 1017 Pine Hill Road, Lititz. She graduated from Warwick High School and from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is employed by Innovation Focus Inc. as a project manager/innovation analyst.

Joan and Barry Kachel mark golden wedding anniversary
EPHRATA, PA - Joan and Barry Kachel of Ephrata celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 28. They were married on May 28, 1955 at Ephrata Hope Evangelical Church by the Rev. Frank S. Lewis. Mrs. Kachel is the former Joan Weaver.

Jan and Patricia Witmer celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
EPHRATA, PA - Jan A. and Patricia Palsgrove Witmer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a family dinner held at Lombardo’s on June 4. They were married on June 4, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata with the Rev. Myron A. Eichner officiating.

Leon and Peggy Texter celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
EPHRATA, PA - Leon and Peggy Texter of Fivepointville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 18, 1955 in Maryland.

They are parents of a daughter, Cookie Heagy, wife of Rusty Heagy, Elm. They have a granddaughter, Jamie Rehm, wife of Scott Rehm, Ephrata. There are two great-grandchildren, Victoria Elizabeth Rehm, 8, and Tyler Scott Rehm, 5.

Redcay-Shenk exchange vows
EPHRATA, PA - Gwen Marie Shenk, Manheim, and Troy Joseph Redcay, Ephrata, were married recently at Chiques Church of the Brethren, Manheim, with the Rev. Nate Myer officiating.

Parents of the couple are Gary and Janice Shenk, Hossler Road, Manheim, and Lloyd and Arlene Redcay, Akron Road, Ephrata.

EPHRATA, PA - Megan Parmer and Jodi Zimmerman were married on May 31, 2005.

Megan Parmer is the daughter of Bruce and Nancy Parmer, Leola.

The bride-to-be graduated from Cocalico High School in 2003 and is attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

EPHRATA, PA - Amy Rebecca Hines, Columbia, and Eric David Kurtz, Ephrata, were married on June 4 at 3 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, Mt. Joy, with the Rev. Robert Mignard officiating.

Parents of the couple are Charles and Linda Hines and Donald and Kay Kurtz.

George And Antoinette Weidler celebrate 65th anniversary
EPHRATA, PA - George and Antoinette (Ann) Weidler of Evergreen Estates Retirement Community, 1300 E. King St., Lancaster, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 6. Mrs. Weidler is the former Antoinette Rinella.

They were married April 6, 1940 at St. James Catholic Church, Lititz, Pa.
