State Farm presents $2,000 for Ephrata HS driving simulators
EPHRATA, PA
- State Farm Insurance presented $2000 to the Ephrata High School fund to purchase driving simulators keeping with their mission to help young adults enhance their driving skills. A group of local citizens has been working with he school district since December 2004 to find ways to enhance the driver education program at Ephrata Area School District (EASD) and help lower the rate of accidents among teenage drivers. EASD is currently in the bidding process to purchase seven driving simulators for classroom use in the fall.

ENB posts second quarter earnings
EPHRATA, PA
- The Ephrata National Bank posted earnings of $1,611,000 for the second quarter of 2005, a 3.3% decrease from the $1,666,000 earned during the second quarter of 2004. Net income for the six months ended June 30, 2005, was $3,472,000, a 3.3% increase from the $3,361,000 earned during the same period in 2004. Earnings per share for the second quarter of 2005 were $0.55, a decrease from $0.57 for the same period in 2004. Year-to-date earnings per share increased from $1.14 in 2004 to $1.18 in 2005.
