Kutztown Festival opens July 2
EPHRATA, PA - LEO, the roaring lion, is coming to Kutztown.

The famous brass band from Germany’s Rhineland region will perform daily at the 2005 Kutztown Festival which runs from July 2 through July 10 at the Kutztown Fairgrounds.

Popcorn Concert coming to Main
EPHRATA, PA - Gretna Music will present its eighth annual Popcorn Concert featuring the Pennsylvania Academy of Music Philharmonia Orchestra on Monday, May 16 at 7 p.m. in the Main Theater of the Brossman Business Complex in Ephrata. Free popcorn will be served. The Popcorn Concert is part of Gretna Music’s educational outreach to introduce and promote classical music to young audiences through a performance by their peers. Since its inception, the Popcorn Concert has been generously supported by a grant from the Mr. and Mrs. William F. Brossman Charitable Foundation to bring cultural events to downtown Ephrata.

EPHRATA, PA - With roots that go back more than 25 years, the Ephrata-based “Miss T and the Mosquitoes” rhythm and blues band will play its final show this Friday, April 29 at the Symposium in Lancaster.

‘Crazy Quilt’ workshop
EPHRATA, PA - If you have always admired those beautiful crazy quilts and other “crazy quilt” embellished items and wanted to try your hand at it, now is the perfect time! Penn State Cooperative Extension of Lancaster County will be offering a class on two of the techniques for constructing the foundation of a crazy quilt. We’ll be stitching a block that can be made either into a pillow top or can be the start of a bigger project. Other crazy quilt applications will also be discussed, as well as how to embellish your block. This is a machine class; you will need to bring your sewing machine cleaned and in good working order.

Ephrata residents in band coming to Legion
EPHRATA, PA - Two Ephrata residents will be appearing at the Ephrata American Legion ballroom, Saturday, April 23 as part of the local band “Sofa King.”
