Helen M. Nolt, Ephrata, 86, seamtress, volunteer
Helen M. Nolt, 86, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, March 9, at Fairmount Homes Nursing Home.
She was born in Ephrata to the late Walter and Vera (Cammauf) Hoffman and was the wife of the late Titus Nolt, whom passed away in November of 1992.
Helen was a member of Ephrata United Zion Church, where she helped in the Nursery and was part of the Missionary Sewing Circle, knotting comforters for the needy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Helen also enjoyed cooking, baking, visiting the elderly at home and nursing home facilities, reading Christian books and traveling on bus tours with friends.
During her working years, she worked as a seamstress at Hopeland Manufacturing Company and retired from New Holland Lingerie.
Helen is survived by a son: Leverne, husband of JoLynn (Pfautz) Nolt of Reinholds; daughter: Dolores, wife of Barry R. Burkholder of Akron; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers: Paul, husband of Miriam Hoffman of Ephrata; Luke, husband of Betty Hoffman of New Holland; three sisters: Phyllis Hoffman of Florida; Esther Lynch of Florida; Sarah, wife of Norman Kurtz of Fleetwood; and a sister-in-law: Naomi Hoffman of Witmer.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great grandchild; brother: John Hoffman and sister: Ruth Witmer.
A viewing was held March 12 at the Wheatridge Chapel at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, followed by funeral services with Pastors Jay Showalter and Mel Horst officiating. Interment will take place in the Voganville Union Cemetery.
