Local dog handler, Ernesto Lara and his affenpinscher pooch, Banana Joe, took Best in Show at the 137th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Feb. 19.

Lara lives in Bowmansville and handles Joe, a small dog with luscious locks of jet black hair and perfect posture. Banana Joe resides at the Greenfield-Yarrow Kennels located in Bowmansville. He has had a long and successful run as a show dog and retired after his win at Westminster and will be returning to his original owner.
