Rev. Adam Hornberger, 77, pastor and teacher

Rev. Adam S. Hornberger, 77, of Ephrata, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at his home.

He was the husband of Mary L. Thumma Hornberger. Born in Schoeneck Nov. 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Christian and Viola Sweigart Hornberger.

Adam was a pastor at various churches and also taught in public and private schools. He attended the Lebanon God’s Missionary Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Wesley E., husband of Marlene Hornberger, of Myerstown; and Paul D., husband of Lynnette Hornberger, of Eastview, Ky.; daughters: E. Pennyann Hornberger, of Killbuck, Ohio; and Julanna R., wife of Michael Snyder, of Lebanon; sisters: Mildred Whitekettle, of Denver; Edna Rupp, of Denver; Pearl Redcay, of Stevens; and Louella Enck, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Alice-Ruth Davis Hornberger; two grandchildren; and his brother: Raymond Hornberger.

Funeral services were held October 31 at the Lebanon God’s Missionary Church. Interment was held at the Hahnstown United Zion Church Cemetery.
