John Brubacher, 74, of Leola, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in West Earl Township to the late Sylvester and Mary (Zimmerman) Brubacher and was the husband of Sarah N. (Burkholder) Brubacher.

John was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. He was the owner and operator of J & L Machine Shop.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by a son: Lester B., husband of Elva (Horst) Brubacher, of Leola; a daughter: Anna Mary, wife of Rufus R. Martin, of Ephrata; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at the late residence, with further services from Groffdale Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference), Leola, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.
