Shirley Showalter, 72, was born in Denver, homemaker
Shirley A. Showalter, 72, of Lancaster, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at her home.
Born in Denver, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Dorothy (Eby) Enck. Shirley was married to Allen J. Showalter, with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage.
A member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster, Shirley was a homemaker who attended J.P. McCaskey High School. She enjoyed camping, clipping coupons, entering online sweepstakes and traveling to Florida.
She is survived by a daughter: Debra Frankhauser, of Columbia; and five sons: Allen Showalter Jr., of Manheim; Michael, husband of Abigail Showalter, of Castro Valley, Calif.; Thomas Wilson Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn.; Douglas, husband of Rita Wilson, of Lancaster; and Lewis Wilson, of Lancaster; two sisters: Nancy, wife of James Roman, of Hobe Sound, Fla.; and Linda, wife of Terry Edwards, of Willow Street; and three brothers: James, husband of Linda Enck Jr., of Lancaster; Michael D., husband of Heidi Enck, of Lancaster; and Robert Enck, of Deland, Fla.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s funeral service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 528 W. Orange St. (corner of Orange and Pine streets) in Lancaster, on Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. Her family will receive friends at The Groffs from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
