William Wimer, Korean War vet, woodworker
William R. Wimer, 82, of Berryville, Ark., formerly of Lancaster County, departed this life in his home Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
Born in Dayton, Va., a son of the late William R. Wimer Sr. and Annie Florence Richard, he was married to Bessie M. (Krisher) Wimer on Aug. 23, 1982.
Of the Protestant faith. William was a talented cabinet maker and woodworker; crafting beautiful pieces of furniture of red oak, pine and maple. William proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Also surviving are daughters: Lori Wimer, of Marysville; and Stacy, wife of Dave Loose, of Carlisle; a son: Doug Wimer, of Mt. Holly Springs; sisters: Arleta Farabee, of Tampa, Fla., and Bernice Hoerner, of Carlisle; a brother: Richard, husband of Darlene Wimer, of Carlisle; stepchildren: Brenda, wife of Rick Oswald, of Berryville, Ark.; LaRue Breasette, of Martindale; and Pamela, wife of Dean Sutton, of New Holland; six grandchildren; and many other family and friends. He was also predeceased by a sister: Jean Howard.
Funeral services were held at Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, on July 23 at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors followed in the Memory Gardens, Ephrata.
