Anna Stark, 99, RCA employee, honored for work at chuch
Anna W. Stark, 99, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Denver Nursing Home.
Born in Upper Leacock Township to the late Martin Frederick and Annie (Sweigart) Weidman. Anna was the wife of the late Raymond H. Stark who passed away in 1991.
She was a member of Ephrata Church of the Nazarene where she was active in the church nursery and was recognized by the church for her volunteer work in the nursery department for almost 40 years. She was a former member of Friendly Circle and enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching TV, puzzles, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Anna had worked at RCA in Lancaster during World War II.
Anna is survived by: a daughter, Dolores S., wife of John R. Moyer of S.C.; and a son, Rev. Raymond, husband of Fay (Horst) Stark of Stevens; grandchildren Jodee Ann, wife of Kenneth Laukoff of S.C.; John E. Moyer of Va.; Jaclyn M., wife of Thomas Pierson of N.J and Rev. Ray A., husband of Beth (Bailey) Stark of Allentown; and five great-grandchildren: Ariadna Moyer; Justin Stark; Jeremy Stark; Christopher Pierson; and Abigail Pierson.
She was the last living survivor in a family of 13 children.
A funeral service was held at the Stradling Funeral Home, Ephrata, on April 17, with Rev. Dr. B. W. Hambrick, officiating. Burial took place in the Mohler’s Brethren Cemetery.
