William Asquith, Denver, Lanchester Landfill retiree

William N. "Bill" Asquith, 77, of Denver, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, after a lengthy illness at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center.

Born in Annapolis, Md., he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Phipps) Asquith. He would have been married 54 years on Jan. 25 to Martha E. (Reynolds) Asquith.

Bill retired in 1988 as a heavy equipment operator for the Lanchester Landfill.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a step-son: Larry S., husband of Jennifer (Nichols) Ireland, of Spring Hill, Fla.; four sons: William J. Asquith, companion of Melissa March, of Denver; Edward N., husband of Beth Ann (Kennel) Asquith, of Ephrata; Glen M., husband of Mildred (Goodwin) Asquith, of Denver; and David L., husband of Kathleen (Kennel) Asquith, of New Port Richey, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Joan Owens, of Severna Park, Md.; and Jeanette Quinlan, of Edgewater, Md.

Preceding him in death are two sisters: Nancy and Delores; and a brother: Kaiser.

Funeral services will be held on Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
