Jayne Royer, 92, Indian River VP
Jayne H. (Hopkins) Royer, 92, formerly of Quarryville, Ephrata and Nacogdoches, Texas, died peacefully Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at home in Schwenksville surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Jayne graduated from Quarryville High School in 1934. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Ga., for two years and Lancaster Business School for two years. She was employed by Indian River International located in Lancaster and Nacogdoches, Texas, for 40 years. She retired in 1995 as corporate vice president. Jayne was a member of the Altrusa Club of Nacogdoches, Texas, for 29 years, serving as president for three terms. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Nacogdoches, Texas, serving as president for one term, a member of Eastern Star, Nacogdoches #428 OES and a member of the Ephrata Women’s Club during her years in Ephrata. Jayne was also a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, Norristown.
She is survived by her children: Kim, wife of George Murray, of Schwenksville; Michael C., husband of Hildegard Royer, of Falmouth Maine; and David H., husband of Cheryl Royer, of Chanhassen, Minn.; her brother: James Hopkins; and six grandchildren: Christine Anne, Michael Adam, Amanda Margaret, Emily Amanda, Juliana Marie and Olivia Margaret.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Norristown. Interment will be at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville.
