Melvin Stupp, 88, vet, truck driver
Melvin R. Stupp, 88, of Spring City, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at South Eastern Veterans Center, Spring City.
He was born in Pine Grove to the late Fred and Esther (Heinbach) Stupp and was the husband of the late Verna (Sattizahn) Stupp.
Melvin served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Cloister Post #429, American Legion, and enjoyed hunting. During his working years, he was a truck driver and worked for Bethlehem Steel.
Melvin is survived by a daughter: Janice, wife of the late Daryl Spotts, of Stevens; one brother; and two sisters.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, with Rev. Timothy Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Honor Guard.
